We have some good news for you about Amazon Music Android app as Chromecast support finally has come to the app. This has been a long time coming and a very public issue between Google and Amazon in recent years. Google and Amazon have been going at it, including Amazon taking the Chromecast app from the store.
Google then took the ability to get YouTube off of the Amazon Echo Shows. Amazon then went onto take the Amazon Prime Video app off of the Google Play Store, but then brought it back. The love-hate relationship between Google and Amazon goes a long way, so getting Chromecast support on Amazon Music is definitely a good sign.
Chromecast Now Supported on Amazon Music Android App
The issues between Amazon and Google hopefully are going to be coming to an end with this news. Now that the Android version of the Amazon Music app supports Chromecast, we hope that these companies will become friends again. Between the Amazon and Google wars, it is always the consumer that gets left out in terms of features and functions being disabled on devices. If you open up the Amazon Music app on Android, you will now see the ability to have your music go right to your devices where Chromecast is enabled.
The new integration with Chromecast support has been put into the latest version of the Amazon Music app. This new version of Amazon Music has been out for a couple weeks now, but it was on limited devices at the time. It appears the full roll out of Chromecast support is now live, which means everyone should be seeing the change. You need to be an Amazon Music subscriber though, if you would like to see the new changes.
Amazon Music Android Brings Chromecast Support & Possibly More
It appears that the biggest change to the Amazon Music Android app is the Chromecast support. You can check out the new app right now, and you should see the functionality. The support will work if you have Google Home, Chromecast dongle for the TV, Chromecast built-in speaker system or Google Assistant speakers. The only real downside to the support is that voice command functionality does not work. This means you need to manually go through the process, using the app to cast to your Chromecast devices.
That is the only new change we see in the Amazon Music Android app. It is possible that there will be more changes coming to the Android app, but we just have to wait and see. We are hopeful that this integration will finally stop the feud between Amazon and Google. It would be a good thing if these two companies could put all of the bad blood aside. Since the consumer is the one who ends up with the short end of the stick in these situations.
We will have to wait and see what the next move will be between these two companies. While they are both competitors in a way, they also should be working together to make improvements and innovations that we all can enjoy. So are you happy about the new integration of Chromecast support in the Amazon Music Android app? Do you think this might be the start of a friendship between the two tech giants? Let us know in the comments what you think of the ongoing feud and how this new change could be a good thing in the long-term.
