Camera Sample of Implied Huawei P9 was in Fact Taken by the Camera Setup of $4,500: Few days back Huawei posted a picture on Google+ with the caption that said that its smartphone P9’s dual Leica cameras ‘make taking the pictures in the low light conditions like this a pleasure’. The image seemed quite impressive and with the great detail especially for the smartphone camera. It was too to be true after all, as it turns out.
From the caption, it seemed a pretty clear that the company was insinuating that the picture was taken by camera on its smartphone i.e. on Huawei P9, despite not really saying so. However, the equipment was worth $4,500 or roughly Rs. 3 lakhs behind taking picture.
Google+ kept the EXIF data that was included the camera name and model that for any photo which was uploaded on the site and it was noted by the Android Police’s David Ruddock that the photo that was taken from Canon EOS 5D Mark III EF70-200mm USM lens that together cost around $4,500.
After the Ruddock highlighted the issue and the company removed the picture from the social networking websites and responded by saying that:
It has recently been highlighted that the image posted to our social channels was not shot on Huawei P9. The photo that was shot was professionally taken while filming the Huawei P9 advert and then it was shared to inspire our community. Though, we recognize that we should have been clearer with captions for this image. We apologize for this and we have removed the image.
So, if a company heaps to praises about its smartphone’s camera and posts the picture along with it and the picture is bound to be associated with smartphone.
