If you are using an Android device, you might want to know that the Google Chrome 58 update just hit Google Play Store. In the new Google Chrome 58, you will find a couple of new features including one that allows for full-screen mode in web apps. We have all of the latest news about what comes in the Google Chrome 58 update for Android so continue reading to learn more.

Google Chrome 58 Update Adds New Features on Android

If you download the new Google Chrome 58 update from Google Play Store, you will notice a couple of changes and updates to the popular Android browser. The first thing you will notice is that you have the option to run the Progressive Web Apps through a full-screen mode feature. This is great because if you are running a Progressive Web App, you will quickly notice that the bottom navigation bar and top navigation bars disappear.

This allows you to go into a full-screen mode while you are running the Progressive Web Apps. If you are playing a game, then you will love the new full-screen mode on Chrome. This feature of making the top and bottom bars disappear is all thanks to a coding change. It will make browsing websites easier as well as make it much easier and fun if you are playing a game.

Beyond the new full-screen ability, we also see that there is a change to the “Autofill” section in the Settings. Instead of just seeing “Autofill” as you normally would in the Settings, with the Google Chrome 58 update, you will notice it is called “Autofill and Payments.” The change in name allows you to store both your credit cards and addresses in different sections. You will also see that the History section of Chrome has changed too. The History is now within a section by itself, which is cool because now you do not have the URL link to worry about.

You will see that when you look at the History section on Google Chrome 58, you will see the clear browsing history option right at the top. Previously, the clear history section was way at the bottom in Chrome on Android, which was a pain if you are someone who likes to regularly clear out your browsing history. Since the option is right there on the top now, you will be able to quickly clear out your history and then get back to what you were doing before.

If you would like to get the new updates and features, such as the full-screen option for Progressive Web Apps, you need to download the new version of Google Chrome. The new version is Google Chrome 58 and you will find this version right now in Google Play Store. If you have an Android device, you might have already noticed the new updated version if you have Chrome on your Android device. Depending on which device you have, it could still take a few more days for the Google Chrome update to hit your Android device. So either you can wait until the Google Chrome 58 update hits your Android device or you can head to Google Play Store right now to download the new version manually without the hassle of waiting. It is definitely worth checking out just for these additional features.
