Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Hits iOS in October

Sep 18, 2019

We have good news if you like collectible card games because a new one is slated to hit iOS in October. Gwent: The Witcher Card Game has been released as a standalone title on consoles, but this game is now going to be available on iOS within the next month. We have all of the latest information about this game coming to iOS so keep reading to learn all about it.

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Coming to iOS October 29

We only have about a month to wait for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game to come to iOS since it’s going to be released on October 29. This game first started out as a minigame inside of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

It quickly became a hit and the developer released it as a standalone game. CD Projekt Red wanted to compete with Magic: The Gathering and other collectible card games, so it made sense to pull Gwent: The Witcher Card Game from a minigame into a standalone game.

You might have heard about the game before since it was released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC last year. One thing that sets Gwent: The Witcher Card Game apart from other collectible card games is that it doesn’t use the mana system. It also uses multiple rows during gameplay which give you both defensive and offensive benefits.

In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt version of the game, you had to collect the cards to build your own decks. You could earn points by playing cards in the matches and if you had the most points at the very end of the round, you were the winner.

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Available for Pre-Order on iOS

What’s really cool is that even though the game won’t be released for another month, you can go ahead and pre-order it through Apples’ App Store. It’s a free-to-play title but the developer wants people to pre-order to ensure that it’s going to be ready by October 29. There are some other cool developments too, such as how your progress will be saved from the PC.

If you are one of the people playing through the PC, you will be able to retain your progress and move it to the iOS version of the game. This means all of the cards you collected through the PC version will be available on the iOS version for you. The only thing you need to do is login to the game using a GOG account on both the PC and iOS versions of the game. If you don’t have a GOG account, it’s free to make one and a sure way to keep your progress across multiple platforms.

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Has Been Optimized for iOS

We also love the fact that Gwent: The Witcher Card Game has been optimized for iOS, including the controls. It will work well with the touchscreen iPad and iPhones out there, which is really cool. There are also 4K textures built into the game that will work with the newest iPhones.

As long as you have an iPhone 6 or above, you will be able to play Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. For those on an iPad, you need to be at version 4 or higher of the iPad Mini or have the 5th generation iPad in order to play. This game will also work on the iPad Air 2 and more recent iPad Air models. If you have an iPad Pro device, then you will also be able to play the game without issue.

We want to know in the comments below whether or not you will be downloading Gwent: The Witcher Card Game to check it out when it’s released on iOS October 29. Is this a game you’ve been playing already on PC or through the console? It’s considered to be one of the best collectible card games out there, especially in the free-to-play section.

If you like Elder Scrolls: Legends or Hearthstone, then you will really enjoy this game. In the comment section tell us which card game is your favorite and if you like RPG with the cards?
