What do all babies have in common? They are always cute and innocent, but most importantly, they are always hungry. Instead of human babies, in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife, it is your job to take care of all the baby animals in the wildlife. All of the baby animals are eagerly waiting for you to feed them, but in order to be able to do that, you are going to have to solve puzzles. This means that you are going to have to be clever, or else the animals in the wildlife will starve!
Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife is yet another match-three puzzle game, made available for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. The game has been developed and published by Storm8 Studios, who are also known for games such as Dragon Story and Fashion Story. Looking at the numbers on Google Play Store, it seems like the game is doing quite well, with over a hundred thousand downloads and an excellent 4.1 out of 5 rating in 2018. While you cannot see the amount of downloads on iOS App Store, it seems like people are happy with Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife rating it a near-perfect 4.5 out of 5 stars for 2018. If you enjoy match-three puzzle games, give this a try!
About Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife
The story in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife is that you are a visiting professor to Baby U, which is short for Baby University. You are there for a semester to teach the students how to feed baby animals in the wildlife. Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife consists of a map with a path carved out for you already, just like many of the other match-three puzzles games. In order to progress in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife, you are going to have to clear all the levels one by one. All of the levels have different objectives, and you only have a set amount of moves to complete them.
The average level in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife contains a square playfield, but there are all kinds of differently shaped playfields throughout the game. At the top of your screen, you will see one, two or more baby animals that you need to feed by matching threes. The baby animals have a thought bubble on top of them, showing which treat you need to feed them. At the very top of your screen, you will see the amount of moves you have left to complete the objectives.
The puzzle pieces in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife vary from different kinds of vegetable and fruit treats. There are apples, bananas, blueberries, carrots and even peas. In order to feed one of the hungry baby animals, you are going to need to swap the treats, and make sure to match three of a kind in a single row. The minimum amount of treats that you need to match is three, but of course, the more treats you match in one single move, the more points you will earn.
Sometimes, the baby animals want to eat something other than fruits or vegetables. Just to give an example, there are levels where a baby animal will ask for waffles, which will then be placed somewhere on the playfield. In order to waffles to that baby animal, you are going to have to match threes right next to the waffles, which will then send a single waffle towards the animal.
Making a match out of more than three treats will create a special object. For example, if you manage to match four treats in a square, you will create a jar full of jam. If you match that jam jar with treats of the same color, it will explore and clear a three by three square. Matching the treats in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife differently will create different special treats. Just like the jam jar, the other special treats will also help you to clear a large part of the game field.
In each of the levels in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife, you can earn up to three gold stars. This is a feature that you will see in many, if not all, other match-three puzzle games. You are going to have to earn at least one gold star, in order to unlock the next level. In order to unlock the next stages, you will need a minimum amount of gold stars. If you do not own enough gold stars, you will need to go back and repeat the levels until you meet the required amount of gold stars.
Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife also has a heart system, which are basically your lives. Every time that you fail to complete the objectives of a level, you will lose one of your hearts. It takes thirty minutes for one of your lives to regenerate itself. You only have a total amount of five hearts, so you are going to need to be careful with them, if you do not want to be forced to take a break.
On the world map, you will see a baby book button at the bottom-right corner of your screen. In the baby book, you can see the animals that you have befriended so far. Every stage in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife has twelve unlockable animals. If you manage to befriend them all, you will earn a reward. Next to the baby book button, you will find a challenges button. Completing a challenge successfully will reward you with hearts, in-game currencies or different animals.
Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife In-game store
Throughout your gameplay in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife, you will be able to obtain purple gems, which is the one and only currency of the game. Even though it is easy to obtain gems at the beginning of your gameplay, it becomes significantly more difficult to do so later on. If you want to check out what you need to do to earn purple gems in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife, you will need to tap on the challenges button, and complete the challenges that you find there.
There are several different uses for purple gems in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife. The most important thing you can use purple gems for is to refill your hearts. By doing so, you would not have to wait for your hearts to get regenerated, and continue playing the game right away.
You can also use purple gems to purchase different kinds of boosters and power-ups, which you can use during your gameplay. You will unlock the boosters/power-ups once you have reached a certain level in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife. By using your purple gems, you will never run out of boosters and power-ups, which means that you will always have an advantage in the game.
It is very likely that you will not have enough purple gems to always refill your hearts and to buy more boosters and power-ups. If you are unable to complete the challenges in the game to earn more purple gems, you can also purchase them with real money. The smallest package contains 10 gems and goes for $0.99, while the largest package contains 460 gems and goes for $39.99. There are no ways to earn purple gems by watching advertisement videos or completing offers.
Cheats & Tips for Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife
Let this be a warning to everyone that is looking for Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife cheats, or for any other mobile game for that matter. The websites that you will find will promise that you will be able to get an unlimited amount of hearts and purple gems in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife, and the only thing that you need to do is to complete a quick survey. All of those websites are scams, purely designed to trick and exploit people. They all have descriptions stating that those cheat tools will actually work, but all you will be downloading are weird documents and viruses.
The way it works is that the scam artists advertise cheat tools for popular mobile games, and Google picks up on them. For example, if you use Google to search for Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife cheats, there will be dozens of results. Clicking on one of those results will take you to a fake cheat tool website, on which you will need to fill in a survey, just to download it. The scam artists make a lot of money for every survey that gets filled in. Once you have filled in a survey, the scam artists have no use for you anymore, and the files you download are of no use either.
Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife Gameplay Tips and Tricks
It is possible for you to use the time-lapse trick in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife. I will elaborate how to use this trick, for those who are unfamiliar with it. People that often play puzzle games, or any other games with a life system/timer system in it, will know that you are often forced to either wait for your lives to get regenerated, or you will have to spend money to buy more lives. By using the time-lapse trick, you will no longer have to wait for your lives to get regenerated.
First things first, it is important that you disconnect your smartphone or tablet from any internet connection, because Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife might have a security check in place. Losing all of your lives in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife means that you are going to have to wait thirty minutes for one of them to get regenerated. When you are out of lives in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife, close down the game completely, and proceed by going to your time and date settings.
All you need to do is tap on your device’s current time, forward it by three hours and save your new time settings. When you start Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife now, you will notice that all of your hearts have been regenerated, and you didn’t even have to wait a single minute. The only reason for this is because the game checks the time on your device, and when it sees that three hours have passed by, it will regenerate all of your lives for you.
Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife Review
I downloaded and started playing Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife without any real expectations, especially because it was yet another match-three puzzle game for me to review. The first thing I noticed about Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife is that the developers have implemented a story into the game, which is not something you see very often in mobile puzzle games. I like the fact that the entire game has a theme, and that your purpose is to feed baby animals and take care of them. This definitely makes Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife a more entertaining game to play.
Unlike other match-three puzzle games, the story in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife actually tells you why you have to match three fruits or vegetables together. There are many different baby animals in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife as well, which is great work by the developers. On top of the excellent graphics, I also really enjoyed listening to the soundtracks during my gameplay.
A very positive aspect about Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife would be that there are absolutely no advertisements in the game. Even though it is acceptable nowadays that free-to-play games contain advertisements, it is still very nice to see that some developers choose not to add them. The problem is that many developers just go overboard with the amount of ads that they place into their games, making their games feel like cash grabs, and lowering the quality as well.
While it is great that there are no advertisements in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife, it seems like the developers did choose to implement a playtime limitation system into the game, in order to try to make as much money as they possibly can. Playtime limitation systems come in different forms, such as lives, timers and energy bars. The playtime limitation system in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife is in the form of hearts/lives, and losing one of your hearts means that you have to wait a whopping thirty minutes for it to get regenerated. I find playtime limitation systems very annoying and obstructive, and just like ads, they significantly lower the quality of the game.
Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife Ratings
Artwork: I give Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife an 8/10 for its artwork. The great thing about the graphics and animations in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife is that they are unique, even though there are hundreds of similar match-three puzzle games on the app markets. I believe that the developer first created a story, and all of the artwork and animations are based on that story. It is not often that you get to see artwork based on a story. I like the fact that there are so many different baby animals that you can befriend and feed during your gameplay. All of the graphics are high quality, and the developers even added special effects when you match three or more treats together. The graphics need to be polished though, because the game still has lag spikes.
Music & SFX: I give Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife an 8/10 for its music and SFX. All of the music tracks in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife have an adventurous tone to them, which really does fit well with the story and the overall theme of the game. I think the developers did a great job by implementing original soundtracks and sound effects into Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife, and on top of that, they made sure that all of the music and SFXs fit well with the theme of the game. It is also nice that the soundtracks and sound effects are not so loud, allowing you to concentrate.
Story & Originality: I give Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife an 8/10 for its story and originality. It is very difficult to say how original Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife really is, especially based on the features of the game. There are hundreds of match-three puzzle games available, and when you look at the goals in those games, they are all very similar. I must admit that the developers of Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife did a great job with the story of the game, and developing the game around that story. I found the game very entertaining to play because of the story alone.
General Gameplay: I give Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife a 7/10 for general gameplay. There is a story at the beginning of the gameplay in Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife. During the story, you will also learn how to properly play the game. The game is quite easy to get used to, because the controls are responsive and smooth. The only negative aspect about the general gameplay is that it becomes very straightforward and repetitive after a while.
Addictiveness: I give Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife a 6/10 for addictiveness. I could see Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife being a very addictive game, if only there was no playtime limitation system in place. I believe that no one is actually looking to take a forced break from a game, just because he or she ran out of lives. If the developers at least reduced the waiting times, the addictiveness of Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife would definitely improve.
All things considered, I give Hungry Babies Mania: Wildlife a 7/10.
