LG G4 Review in first look & pictures: Now that the Mobile World Congress 2016 is coming up we, the Android smartphone users, are excitedly waiting to get hold of the new and upcoming smartphones. The two most exciting releases are undoubtedly going to be Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5. But, before the new models of the two Korean companies enter the market, let’s first take a look back at their previous models, that is, Galaxy S6 and LG G4. LG’s last model, LG G4, which was released in 2015, had stirred the market with its expandable storage and removable battery. This feature of LG G4 had even given it a slight edge over Samsung because a premium phone with an expandable storage and a removable battery has become rare in today’s market. Let us take a look at the other features of LG G4 which contributed to the success of the phone in the smartphone market.
LG G4 Design
The G4 has a curved display which was adopted by LG from G Flex line and along with that it has a slim look with LG’s trademark rear button layout. The users of LG G4 could even select a leather rear backing for their device and this leather backing is available in various colors and textures. Apart from the leather covers, the device is also available in the standard metallic and ceramic finish for the users who do not wish to have a leather backing. However, the curve sides of LG G4 did create issues in regard to the grip of the phone. Many users found it difficult to hold the phone comfortably when they were lying on a bed and holding the phone above their face. But, according to the rumours the LG G5 will do away with the curve display thereby solving the problem with the phone’s grip.
LG G4 Hardware
LG G4 has a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display and a Quad HD resolution. It has a high level of colour accuracy and its high brightness level allows the users to operate the phone easily in broad daylight. The excellent brightness level of the device is a boon for those users who are frequent travelers and also for those who spend most of their time outdoors. The device runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor instead of the superior processing package of Snapdragon 810. The Snapdragon 808 processor is no less efficient than Snapdragon 810. The phone easily handles GPS navigation, YouTube, NetFlix and other such applications. The only problem created by this processor is the slowdown of the phone will playing games or even while navigating in-game menus. Note, LG G4 rolling out with Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
LG G4 Storage
The storage facility of LG G4 is one of the main highlights of its features. The phone has an in-built storage capacity of 32 GB and this storage capacity can be further expanded by inserting an external micro SD card. So, for the users who often get the storage insufficient notification, LG G4 is the smartphone which you should go for to get rid of the continuous storage alert.
LG G4 Battery
The main feature of LG G4 is its removable battery. Apart from providing a removable battery the phone also provides a long battery life of 24 hours and an average of around 3.5 hours of on-screen time. The removable battery is the main element of G4 which made it so popular in the market because in recent times most of the smartphones are being released with irreplaceable batteries.
LG G4 Camera
The main camera or the rear camera of LG G4 has a 16 mega pixel camera and an aperture of f/1.8. The device also comes with laser autofocus and as colour spectrum sensor. In the Auto Mode, pictures can be shot by clicking anywhere on the screen of G4. In the Manual Mode, the phone takes granular control over the details and the white balance setting is also available in this mode.
LG G4 In-built Apps
LG G4 has the Google Now launcher, a Smart Widget on the home screen to give the weather details, a Smart Cleaner for the devices clean up and lastly the Q Slide. Though G UI of LG does not have many useful features yet it still offers the basic in-built apps, like the ones mentioned above.
