Let us find out what these changes are and how well they blend with the other traditional features of LG.
With the LG G5, the company has replaced its plastic build with the metal unibody handset. This is one of the most important variations that LG has brought in its new flagship’s design. Even after providing a metal unibody construction, LG has still managed to offer the removable battery feature in its device.
The device measures 7.7mm and the power button of the device is present at its back which is integrated with a fingerprint scanner. The volume rocker’s position has been changed from the rear to the left side of the device. The soft curves of the phone assists in firm grip and the luscious curve, which is present at the top of the display, make the device look great.
LG G5 offers a 5.3-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and it has a pixel density of 554ppi. It has an IPS LCD panel which, according to LG, is important to support the Always on feature. The Always On feature, which when turned on, allows the users to see the time and other information when the phone is locked. The LCD display would consume less battery in the Always on mode and on an average it will use only 0.8 per cent charge per hour. Report, LG G5 touch functionality smart cover that allows to receive calls or silence alarms without opening the cover.
LG G5 offers a 16 mega pixel main camera with an additional 8 mega pixel sensor which provides a broader field of view. The camera works like a standard camera and takes great high resolution shots and the second camera has a 135 degree lens and is best suited to take wide angle photos. The new app enables the users to easily switch for one camera to another.
Videos can be recorded and at the same time stills can be shot. There are many framing effects offered by the camera along with many other effects.
Hardware and performance
The LG G5 runs on octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, backed by Adreno 530 GPU and it has 4GB RAM. The device provides an internal storage space of 32 GB which can be expanded by using an external microSD card.
The battery of this device is of 2800mAh and the best part is that the device offers a removable battery in a metal handset. Therefore, the battery can be replaced anytime with a new battery.
The main highlight of LG G5 is that it allows the users to add functionality to the device by swapping modules. The removable bottom section enables the users to connect the various modules to the device to add more functionality to it. The modules include, the LG Cam Pro which has been designed in order to enhance the camera of the device and the LG Hi-Fi Pro module which improves the audio quality of the device.
The device operates on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The apps tray has been removed from this version of LG and therefore the applications will appear normally on the home pages. Users will still be able to make folders but the shortcut for app selection would no longer be available to them.
