Moto G4 plus vs Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016): In the Indian market Motorola finally unveiled its 2016 Moto G smartphone. This time Lenovo-owned company has launched a Plus variant of Moto G i.e. dubbed Moto G4 Plus. Moto G4 Plus itself will be available in the two variants and it has starting price of Rs 13,499.Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016)

On the other hand, Samsung too has been trying to get a hold in Rs 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 smartphone category. Recently the company has released the refreshed variants of its Galaxy J series smartphones which is priced at RS 13,990.

Form the previous generation handsets both the smartphones borrow the design cues, but they are improved on a number of factors. Samsung Galaxy J5 come with a plastic back panel with a brushed metallic finish and with a diamond cut metal frame. In everyday usage, the smartphone look aesthetically pleasing and its rounded edges add to the comfortable handling.

On the other hand, the Motorola Moto G4 Plus looks more appealing and it has an urban feel to it. The back panel of the smartphone has given a criss cross pattern and the smartphone has a metallic frame that is running on the sides, it looks very better than the brushed metallic finishing of the Galaxy J5.Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) Smartphone

The Moto G4 Plus will be available in Black and white colour variants, while the Samsung Galaxy J5 will be available in Midnight Black, Pearl White and Radiant Gold colour variants.

For the first time Motorola has launched a display of 1080p in its Moto G series. The Moto G4 Plus features a display of 5.5-inch 1080p with Gorilla Glass 3 coating. In terms of pixel density it beats the 5.2-inch HD Super AMOLED display of the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016), however the Galaxy J5 (2016) has one advantage over the Moto G4 Plus is that because of its AMOLED display technology that delivers the vibrant colours and the deeper colour in the everyday usage.Moto G4 plus

Motorola has crammed in a rear camera of 16MP that comes with the laser autofocus system to quickly lock the subject and it has an f/2.0 aperture with the Phase Detection Autofocus i.e. PDAF. The camera is accompanied by the dual-tone LED flash and the apps has some nifty additions like slow-motion video, panorama, HDR, tap-to-focus and professional mode with the options to tweak exposure, colour balance, ISO etc. With wide angle lens the front has a 5MP camera. On the other side Samsung is shipping the Galaxy J5 with 13MP auto-focus camera module and front camera of 5MP. In terms of the pure numbers, the Moto G4 Plus has an edge over Galaxy J5 (2016).

But if you are fond of taking selfies in the low light then you will find Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) a better option because it features a front LED flash light.Moto G4 plus Smartphone

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2GHz quad-core processor and is coupled with 2GB of RAM, while the Motorola is using 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 (MSM8952) SoC and is coupled  with RAM of 2GB or 3GB. So this is an area where we think that Motorola has an advantage over Samsung.

The Samsung is shipping the Galaxy J5 (2016) with a battery of 3,100 mAh unit and the Motorola G4 Plus comes with a battery of 3,000mAh. The difference in numbers is quite negligible, but we believe that Samsung will win the fight as its battery unit of 3,100mAh has to power a smaller 720p display, whereas the battery of 3,000mAh of Moto G4 Plus support a larger display of 1080.

The Motorola G4 Plus integrates a fingerprint sensor but this feature you will not find in Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016), but yes you will get the Samsung’s S Bike mode that is exclusive for the Samsung devices. The Moto G4 Plus is the right option, if you fancy the fingerprint sensor, but if you commute on a two-wheeler then the Samsung Galaxy J5 (20116) with S-Bike mode will serve you better.

Additionally, Moto G4 Plus is available in two variants i.e. 32GB + 3GB RAM at Rs. 14,999, while the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is only available in 2GB RAM variant.
