If you are a fan of Steam, then you might want to know that Octopath Traveler is soon coming to the PC gaming platform. There was a leak last week that mentioned the game would be coming to Steam, but at that point nothing was confirmed.
Square Enix has since come out this week to say that the leak was correct, and Octopath Traveler would indeed be heading to Steam. We are super elated about this news because previous to this announcement, the game was an exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. Keep reading to learn more about the game and what you will find in the Steam version of the game.
Octopath Traveler Confirmed Coming to Steam This June
It’s pretty cool that Square Enix has confirmed the leak of last week that Octopath Traveler will be going to Steam this year. This game had been a Nintendo Switch-exclusive, but it appears that will be changing in the next couple months. The confirmed date for Steam release is June 7, and this game falls within the JRPG genre.
In Octopath Traveler, you will have a mix of both 3D graphics and 2D graphics. You will find yourself in a magical world known as Orsterra. There are eight different and unique characters in the game, which all have their own skills and abilities. Beyond their own skills, each character also has motivations and stories to tell as well. The characters are all out on their own missions, whether it be a revenge mission or a self-discovery mission.
More About Characters in Octopath Traveler
If you are wondering about the characters themselves, we have you covered because we wanted to talk a little bit about them. Olberic is a knight who has a ton of experience and wants redemption. Cyrus is a scholar who has a lot of book smarts, but not so much in the common sense department. Tressa is a merchants who is enthusiastic and is trying to hone her skills by traveling the world. Ophelia is a cleric who is noble and is trying to make the pilgrimage to the holy sites in Orsterra.
Therion is a thief that has many skills, but is trapped in a very bad situation. Primrose is a noble who has fallen and is now seeking revenge on the person who murdered her father. Alfyn is an apothecary who just wants to help people, regardless of the cost. H’annit is a hunter with expert skills and she is trying to find her master who has gone missing. As you can see, all of these characters have something to offer the world, but also are in search for something or someone. They have skills and abilities that set them apart, and a great story to tell.

The Nintendo Switch version has only been out for about a year, so we don’t imagine that much will need to be done in terms of enhancing the graphics or other details.
