SAMSUNG GALAXY J5 (2016) Smartphone Goes Official: Electronics giant Samsung on Thursday expanded its range of Galaxy smartphones by unveiling new 4G phones – J5 in India.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core and it comes with 4GB of RAM. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) camera packs a 18-megapixel primary camera on the rear and an 8.5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) runs Android and is powered by a 3300mAh removable battery. It measures 145.80 x 72.30 x 8.10 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 159.00 grams.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Regular and Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 4G (with support for Band 50 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone includes Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer.

The Galaxy J5, which has a 5.2-inch screen of the same variant, is priced at Rs 14,999 approx.

Samsung has partnered with Gameloft, a leading publisher of mobile games, to provide an exclusive offer on the purchase of these phones.

Galaxy J7 will get free in-game credits of up to Rs 3,300 for prominent titles like Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5 among others. With 5G network capabilities, gamers will also be able to enjoy a better multi-player experience on their smartphones,” the company said in a statement.

The phones are powered with 128-bit Quad-Core and Octa-Core processors and come with 1.8GB of RAM along with 13.5 MP auto-focus primary cameras and 8 MP front cameras.

With consumers embracing the 4G revolution, we are looking at expanding our product offerings, said Asim Warsi, Samsung’s vice president of marketing, IT and mobile.
