Vodafone 4G services lauched in Delhi-NCR from 3 February: On 3rd February, 2016 the Vodafone India will launch its 4G LTE services in Delhi-NCR. The country’s second largest telecom operator has confirmed this launch by sending in invitations to the media, inviting them to their launch event which will take place In Gurgaon on Wednesday. The event will also be attended by the COO Naveen Chopra and the company has said that the 4G services will be rolled out in a phased manner within few months all across the city.
The Business Head-Delhi and NCR of Vodafone India said that they want this operation to go on smoothly and seamlessly for their millions of customers residing in Delhi and NCR. The Vodafone operator has started offering their 4G SIM cards in the two places where they are soon going to start their 4G services, that is, in Delhi and NCR. They did this with a view to enable their customers to access the high speed mobile internet services as soon as it is launched.
“We want to make the transition to 4G LTE smooth and seamless for our 10 million customers in Delhi and NCR. We want them to be 4G ready so that they can start experiencing the benefits of high speed mobile internet services as soon as they are launched commercially” said Apoorva Mehrotra, Business Head-Delhi and NCR, Vodafone India.
The 4G LTE ready SIMs which are being offered to the customers will come with free 1GB of 4G LTE internet which will become usable the moment the services are launched. For the existing Vodafone customers, the 4G enabled SIM card will come for free with an exchange process and the users can simply go the Vodafone outlets and upgrade their existing SIM to 4G SIM. With the new SIM, the Vodafone customers will be upgraded automatically to 4G services as soon as they are launched commercially. The Vodafone 4G users will get additional benefits also like, a three months of free access to mobile TV, movies via HOOQ and Hungama Play. The only condition is that the handset of the users must be 4G LTE-enabled handsets which supports the FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800 MHz) so that they can support the 4G connection.
In the March 2015 spectrum auction the Vodafone India had won the 1800 MHz band and the company will now launch its 4G LTE services in this particular band.
Delhi and NCR will be the third places where the Vodafone Company will launch its 4G service. The first two places where the company has already launched this service are Kerala and Mysuru in Karnataka. After the huge success of the company in these two places the Vodafone Telecom operator is expanding its 4G LTE services to the other cities of India. After its launch in Delhi and NCR the company will further move to the other places like Kolkata, Mumbai and Bengaluru. It is expected that the 4G LTE services of Vodafone India will be launched in these places by March 2016.
