Windows 10 is Now Running on 300 Million Devices: On Thursday, Microsoft announced that its latest Windows operating system is designed to work on desktops, laptops, Xbox One, smartphones consoles and more now will be powering on about 300 million devices around the world.Windows 10

Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of the Microsoft’s Windows and the Device groups said in a blog post that, they are seeing people at schools, at small businesses, at large companies, at home and various other organizations that adopt the Windows 10 faster than ever and will use Windows 10 more than ever before.

The adaption speed has been likely to ramped up by the Microsoft’s move to make the Windows 10 available as the free upgrade through onwards from July 29.

After that, it will be available pre-installed on the new devices or for the purchase separately, with a home computer version which is priced at $119, according to Redmond a Washington-based company.

The tech titan is hoping that the new version will launched after a weak response of Windows 8 and it is aimed at integrating with the variety of the devices that can help it to gain traction in the mobile sector, where it will lags behind Google Android and Apple iOS and will be emerging technologies for computing.

Although, the Microsoft dominates at the personal computer software market, so Windows will run on only a tiny fraction of the smartphones.

The 300 million represents the new computers and the devices with the Windows 10 installed and the upgrades of the existing gadgets.

Microsoft had set a goal of having the operating system in use in more than 1 billion devices by 2018 and it would put it on the par with the Apple, which said that this year it has one billion active devices running the iOS.

Microsoft also said, that it would introduce their anniversary update of the operating system to make it a more powerful educational tool in the classrooms.
